We are currently seeking individuals qualified and interested in employment as follows:

Veterinary Technician or Assistant (Bonney Lake)

Lake Tapps Veterinary Hospital is a small animal (dog and cat) veterinary primary care facility in Bonney Lake, Washington.  

We have one opening for 20 40 hours +/- position, depending on candidate, consisting of weekday and weekend hours, including Saturdays and shared holidays and Sundays (schedule subject to change at discretion of employer).   

Experience in veterinary field required.

 

We are looking for an energetic friendly organized co-worker with excellent people and communication skills to join our dedicated staff in providing quality compassionate care to our clients and patients. 

 

The duties for this position listed below are representative of but not exhaustive or in order of frequency or importance.  Compensation package includes competitive industry wages, vacation, sick leave, and employee discounts.

 

Representative Veterinary Technician/Assistant duties include:

 

*Assist veterinarian and/or technicians with patient restraint, care, and treatment including preparing for, performing, and cleaning up after surgery, out-patient, dental, or other patient care activities
*Care of hospitalized and boarded patients (walking, cleaning cages/runs/litter pans, feeding, watering, medicating according to doctor instruction, record keeping, etc.)
*Accurately recognize, record, and report patient condition

*Document medications and refills, including Rx instructions

*Record charges for services performed and items purchased

*Maintain veterinary medical records according to state law and hospital policy

 

Other duties/requirements include:

 

*Answer multiple phone lines and perform administrative tasks

*Must know or learn and use AviMark computer system

*Schedule appointments
*Record client requests for services

*Obtain client written permission to perform services
*Take payment, including making change, where applicable

*Help keep the facility a clean orderly place (sweep, organize, mop, clean exam rooms and reception, do laundry, take out trash) where clients enjoy coming with their pets

*Launder dirty and/or soiled bedding and protective clothing

*Legible hand-writing

*Order, stock, and inventory retail items

*Ability to lift forty (40) pounds

*Reliable transportation
